Rosa Zipfel and her sister Theresia moved to America with their aunt Elizabeth Herz neè Zipfel (Joseph Zipfel's sister). Elisabeth's family consisted of herself, her husband Fridolin Herz and son Anton Herz. They travelled together on the ship "Wm. Frothingham" which departed from Le Havre, France and arrived at the port of New York on 26 May 1857.
On 28 Mar 1870 she married to Abner T. Jones.
