ALVA – The funeral for Florence Arndt, 78, will be at 2 P.M., Tuesday at Wharton Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Marvin Polson, pastor of Otterbein United Methodist Church officiating. Interment will be at Alva Municipal Cemetery.
Arndt died Saturday, June 12, 1993, at St. Mary's Hospital in Enid.
She was born Dec. 2, 1914, in the Fritzlan community northwest of Alva to Charles and Ada (Jerrod) Herold. She attended Capron School and graduated in 1934. She was the class secretary-treasurer. She worked at home on the farm and at the Reed Hatchery. She married Roland Arndt on March 30, 1940, in Alva. They lived on a farm near White Horse and in 1944 moved to a farm near Hardtner. In 1947, they moved to Alva. She was a member of the EUB Church.
She is survived by her husband Roland; two daughters, Judy McCormick of Oklahoma City and Rita Miller of Alva; two sisters, Lillian Strahn of Stanton, Neb., and Mary Alice Cummins of Mulvane, Kans.; six grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by an infant son, a son, a sister and five brothers.
