Remsen Bell Enter prize 2-13-1903
Nicholas Becker of Remsen is the most numerous father in law in the district. His union with Mrs. Becker has been blessed with 17 children, five sons and twelve daughters. Of late he has attended a wedding of one of his children regularly every month, so that six are now happily matched and the remaining supply goes like hot cakes. The bans announcing the coming marriage to Mr. Frank Smith of Le Mars has been published in St. Mary's church last Sunday, and the union of a son with his best girl will be the family event next month.

On September 16, 1920 the Remsen newspaper reported that Nicholas had moved to Sioux City to live with one of his daughters.
