Mr. Curt C. Krieger of Godeffroy, New York, a retired Deputy Police Chief of the Township of Marlboro, New Jersey and current Division Deputy Fire Coordinator (Orange Car #3) in Orange County died Wednesday, December 8th at the age of 64 at home.

The son of the late Curt Joseph Krieger and Marie Kathryn Hooyman Krieger was born on October 19, 1940 in Passaic, New Jersey and grew up in Clifton, New Jersey where he was a 1958 graduate of Clifton High School. He attended Lafayette College and Brookdale College as well as many police and fire courses.

Curt's entire life has been marked by a strong dedication to his community and public service, always proceeding in an unselfish caring and devotion to the people around him and the public he served. It was his warmth and caring which endeared him to so many friends and colleagues.

His many organizations and activities include Huguenot Fire Company (Past Chief, President and Treasurer), Marlboro Fire Company (Past Officer and President) and Exempt Member of the NJ State Firemen's Relief Association, Marlboro-Colts Neck Pop Warner, Port Jervis Pop Warner (Past President and Coach of the Cardinals), Orange County Fire Chief's Associatioin, County Fire Coordinator's Association, New York State Association of Fire Chiefs, New York State Fire Coordinator's Association, Town of Deerpark Co-Director of Emergency Management, Assistant Football Coach for the Port Jervis Modified and Junior Varsity Teams, Assistant Track and Field Coach at Port Jervis High School, and served on the Violence Prevention and Preparedness Task Force for the Port Jervis City School District.

He will be remembered for his loving devotion to his family, his humor and kindness to all who knew him.

Surviving are his wife of 46 years, Patricia Baran Krieger at home and loving children Kathryn P. Rodriguez of Huguenot, NY, Patricia K. Krieger and her partner Martha Brousseau of Houston, Texas, Curt J. Krieger and his wife Patricia of Highland Falls, NY, Christopher C. Krieger and his wife Katherine of Tega Cay, South Carolina, and Jill P. and her husband Dr. Tim Beidelschies of Fostoria, Ohio, his 7 grandchildren Samantha, Megan and Wesley Krieger, Kaitlin Rodriguez, Matthew and Andrew Krieger and Abigail Beidelschies. Also surviving are his sister Kathryn Mauro and her husband Joseph of Park Ridge, NJ and sister-in-law and brother-in-law Diane and Jeffrey Tomaski of Ellicott City, Maryland and 4 nephews.

Burial will be at Rural Valley Cemetery, Cuddebackville, NY. Rev. Brian Randazzo will officiate.
