Genevieve was born on Oct. 07, 1928 in Meriden Township of Steele Co. to Louis & Marie (Eliason) Beese. Genny graduated from Owatonna High School.
On Oct. 15, 1949 she married Eugene Deml at Sacred Heart Church, Owatonna. Following marriage the couple farmed for many years south of Owatonna. They retired from farming in 1985 & then moved into Owatonna. Genny was an avid gardener & baker; a past 4-H leader; served as an Owatonna Hospice volunteer for over twenty years; served for many years as a volunteer at the Steele County Free Fair; she also served as a volunteer in many church activities & functions. Genny was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church & the Ambitious Homemakers Club.
Survivors include her husband of fifty-nine years, Eugene of Owatonna; three children, Linda (& Mike) Drahota of Brooklyn Park, MN; Richard (& Becky) Deml of Portland, OR; Robert (& Shelly) Deml of Owatonna; five grandchildren, Dustin Deml, Terry Deml, Jenna Deml, Bryan Drahota & Brandon Drahota; a brother Weldon Beese of Washington state. She was preceded in death by five brothers & two sisters.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1:00 pm on Friday, May 1, 2009 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Visitation will be from 5-8 pm on Thursday, April 30, 2009 at the Brick-Meger Funeral Home and one hour prior to the service on Friday at the church. A parish rosary will be recited at 4:45 pm on Thursday at the funeral home. Interment will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Owatonna. Memorials are preferred to the donor's choice.
