Born July 29, 1923, in Liberty, Luella was a daughter of Henry and Rose Lierly Cutforth. She married Lester Wear on Jan. 23, 1943. They were later divorced.
Mrs. Wear was of the Protestant faith and attended junior school in McKee Township. Luella had been employed at Motorola in Quincy. She loved playing cards, reading, crocheting and had made numerous baby blankets for family and friends. She especially enjoyed the time she spent with her family.
Surviving are a daughter, Judy Hapke and her husband, Richard, of Clayton; three sons, Jeff Wear of Clayton, Bob Wear and his wife, Susan, of Argenta, and Ron Wear and his wife, Sandra, of Salisbury, Mo.; six grandchildren, Brent Hapke, Lisa Hapke, Brian Wear, Thomas Wear and his wife, Tammy, Andrew Wear and Rachel Wear; three great-grandchildren, Aaron Gauldin, Stephanie Gauldin and Kassandra Wear; a brother, Jack Cutforth and his wife, Jean, of Mexico, Mo.; and several nieces, nephews and dear friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Teresa in infancy; and a brother, H. Gene Cutforth.
SERVICES: 11 a.m. Friday in the Hamilton Funeral Home in Clayton, conducted by Chaplain Marcia Forman. Burial will be in Howes Cemetery near Timewell.
VISITATION: 10 a.m. to time of the services Friday in the funeral home in Clayton.
