Marion - Andrew L. Alberts of Marion died Sunday March 26, 1898 at his residence after a lengthy illness. He was 74.
He was born April 2, 1914 to Minnie and Peter Alberts in Marion. He married Helen L. Preston April 4, 1933 in Reed City.
He was employed as transportation supervisor for the Marion Public Schools for 30 years, retiring in 1975. He was a lifelong resident of the Marion area.
Survivors include his wife, Helen; five children, Francis (Mrs. Loren) Wallace of St. Louis, Mich., Karen (Mrs Tim) Burger of Marion, Judy (Mrs. LeRoy) Schuler of Gladwin, Marvin and wife Mary Alberts of Marion and Duane Alberts of Marion; one brother, Henry Alberts of Marion; 27 grandchildren and 31 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Brenda Burger, five brothers, two half-brothers and one half-sister.
Burial is in Greenwood Cemetery in Marion.
