Funeral Rites for Rev. Mueller to Be Conducted Friday

Uniontown. July 26 - Funeral services for Rev. Reinhold J. I. Mueller, 65 years old, pastor of the Uniontown Lutheran Church since 1926, who died Monday night at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau, will be held Friday.

The body was taken to the Young & Sons Funeral Home in Perryville and will remain there until Thursday morning, then be brought to the family home where a private service will be held for the family Friday morning. Rev. Wm. Wittrock, pastor of the Hanover Lutheran Church in Cape Girardeau, will address the family. Following this service the body will be taken to the church where final rites will be conducted at 2 o'clock in the afternoon. Rev. A. Vogel of Altenburg and Rev. A. M. Lohmann of Perryville will ad-dress the congregation and Rev. Wm. Dommer of Farrar will speak in behalf of the pastors of southeast Missouri. The commital service will be in charge of Rev. G. Hefner of Frohna. All pastors of Perry County will be honorary pallbearers.

Rev. Reinhold Immanuel John Mueller, was born in Waseca County, Minnesota, April 26, 1879, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Carl Mueller. He was baptized, instructed and confirmed In the Lutheran Church, which church he later served as pastor for forty two years. When in 1893 Concordia College, St. Paul. Minn., was opened for students wishing to prepare for the Lutheran ministry, he was among the first to enroll. From 1896 to 1899 he continued his studies at Concordia College, Milwaukee, Wis. In the fall of the latter year he entered Concordia Seminary at St. Louts. From this institution he graduated with honors in June, 1902.

Served In South America. His first charge was in the great mission field of Brazil, South America, where he served six congregations for the duration of 11 years. He also served the Lutheran Church of Brazil as a visitor and as first vice president. In the fall of 1913 he returned to the United States and accepted a call to the Lutheran Church of St. Clair, Minn. In the spring of 1920 he went to Gar Creek. Ind. In the fall of 1926, he followed the call of the Uniontown Lutheran Church.

On July 10, 1902 he was married to Natalia Boettcher of Jericho Springs, Mo. Six children were born to their union, two of whom died in infancy. Five of them were born In Brazil, South America. Rev. Mueller was taken sick about the middle of June and on
June 28 was taken to Southeast Missouri Hospital at Cape Girardeau. Rev. Mueller is survived by his wife, Mrs. Natalia Mueller; four sons, Leut. (j. g.) John C. Mueller of Plattsburg. N. Y., Rev. E. H. R. Mueller of Jetmore, Kas., Rev. Otto A. I. Mueller of Evanston, Ind., and Ensign L. T. Mueller of Oskaloosa, La., and six grandchildren.
