Anna was the daughter of Jens & Mabel Katrina Harksen, both of Germany. She was born in Iowa and moved with her family to South Dakota around 1902. She married Ralph Grage in 1905 and they had seven children. Following the death of her husband, she and her sons engaged in ranching in the Timber Lake area of South Dakota.
