Alois Bilek, 74, of Minneapolis, a former New Prague resident, died at Riverside Medical Center in Minneapolis on Sunday April 18.

A son of Vincent and Mary (Burda) Bilek. Alois Bilek was born on Feb.14,1919 in Scott County. He graduated from New Prague High School in 1939, and he also attended Dunwoody Institute in Minneapolis. He served with the U. S. Army during World War II.

Mr. Bilek was employed with Dayton-Hudson in Minneapolis, as a truck mechanic, prior to his retirement.

Mr. Bilek is survived by his wife, Mrs. Philomena (Blaha) Bilek, Minneapolis; two sons, Alois J. and Thomas; three daughters, Marianne, Colleen and Ann Marie; four grandchildren; and a sister, Mary Bilek. Funeral services were held on Wednesday at 9 a.m., at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Minneapolis. The Rev. William Ward offered the Mass of Christian Burial.

Interment was at Fort Snelling National Cemetery. Visitation was at the Kapala-Glodek Funeral Home in Minneapolis, on Tuesday.
