Daniel Adam Grabowski, 28, of Kenosha, died unexpectedly on Friday, May 1, 2009.
Born on Aug. 21, 1980, in Kenosha, he was the son of David Walter Grabowski and Jean Mary Nolan.
He was a graduate of Mary D. Bradford High School and received an Associate Degree in nursing from Gateway Technical College.
Dan proudly was a member of the Wisconsin Army National Guard and was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant in the Army Reserve.
Professionally, he was most recently employed as a registered nurse at Woodstock Nursing & Rehab Center. Previously, for over six years, Dan was employed as a registered nurse in the emergency room at Kenosha Memorial Hospital.
Dan was an outdoor enthusiast and enjoyed boating, fishing and wakeboarding. He loved the free open air while driving his motorcycle and cruising in his big custom truck. His most memorable times were spent hunting with his dad and taking yearly trips with his family to Hayward, Wis. He had an incredible love for his family and life in general. Dan's kind heart, great sense of humor and ability to make people laugh was an inspiration to all who met him.
He is survived by his parents, David (Sue) Grabowski, and Jean (John) Canter, both of Kenosha; his partner, Diana Gonzales; two sisters, Bonny Jean Grabowski of Kenosha and Catherine Joan (Jeffrey Jahnke) Grabowski of Slinger, Wis. Dan is further survived by many loving aunts, uncles, cousins, and his extended family.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents and his special feline companion of 21 years, Thai.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, May 6, 2009, at 7 p.m. at the Piasecki-Althaus Funeral Home. A visitation will be hosted on Wednesday, from 4 p.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home. Memorial remembrances in Dan's name to;
