Clara G. Armstrong, 96, formerly of Lexington passed away Monday, May 4, 2009 in Otterbein Retirement Community in Lebanon.

She was born April 23, 1913 in Mansfield to Howard and Lulu (Barnes) Mast, and was graduated from Madison High School in 1931.

On February 20, 1934 she married Ralph Armstrong. They celebrated 63 years of marriage before he passed away on April 25, 1997.

Clara and Ralph moved to Lebanon in 1986, before that Clara lived most of her life on Maxwell Road in Lexington. She was a member of Johnsville Grace United Methodist Church where she was active in the women's circle and formerly taught Sunday school.

She was also a member of the Kings Corners Everthoughtful Club.

Clara will be remembered for her selflessness, as she never complained. She was always the ideal mother, and a wonderful patient.

She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Luann and Kenneth Amore of Lexington; three sons and daughters-in-law, David L. and Jane Armstrong of Holland, Michigan, Charles A. and Marlene Armstrong of Akron, and Hugh T. and Carly Armstrong of Gahanna; 13 grandchildren; and 25 great grandchildren.

In addition to her husband; she was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert and Harold Mast; a sister, Lena Cline; and one great grandchild.
