Elvin D. Tatum of Pleasant Plains, AR died Friday morning in a local hospital.
Born in Banner, He was the son of Earl and Lavada Carter Tatum. He was a retired Army veteran and served in the Korean and Vietnam wars. His awards include the Bronze Star, the Air Medal, First Bronze Oak Leaf Cluster and other commendations for meritorious service and achievements. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include his wife, Wilma Burress Tatum; one son, Billy Tatum of Blytheville, AR; four daughters, Sherry Warden and Renea Beard both of Pleasant Plains, AR, Debra Brooks of Dallas, TX and Lavern Henderson of Floral,AR; a sister Olla Mae Holland of Steprock; eight grandchildren and many other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were at Flippo Chapel Church with Military honors and burial in Cedar Grove Cemetery with arrangements by Crouch Funeral Home.
Pallbearers were Cecil Babb, Bob Jennings, George Foster, George Wackerly, Gary Dossett and Brent Henderson. Honroary pallbearers were Kenny and Royal Dean Burress
