George Albert Trost, well known farmer of the Huscher vicinity, died suddenly at his home on Thursday afternoon, May 18, 1944. He had been in poor health for a number of years but his death came a a shock to his family and friends. Mr. and Mrs. Trost were in town Thursday afternoon, and he was taken ill after his return home.
George Albert Trost was born October 23, 1899 near Ames, the youngest son of John and Mary Trost, and made his home in that vicinity his entire life. His marriage to Miss Lela Smith, of Morgan Chapel community, took place on September 12, 1923, and established their home on the parental farm. To this union four daughters were born Elsie, Vivian, Mary and Carol, all of the home. Early in life Mr. Trost was baptized and united with the Huscher Evangelical church.
Besides his and daughters, he is survived by four brothers, Louie, Sam, Ezra, and Will all of this community, and three sisters, Mrs. Sarah Wells, Mrs. Mae Revell of this community, and Mrs. Lydia Allison of Matheson, Colorado.
Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon, at 2:30 o'clock at the Huscher Evangelical church, in charge of Rev H. T. Wright. Burial was made in the Nelson cemetery.
