Gladys Estelle Hale, youngest daughter of James Hale and Mary Ellen Sells Hale, was born Dec. 31, 1896, at Eureka, KS. She died at her home in Oakley, KS, Sept. 16, 1967. She was baptized into the Christian Church at an early age. She moved to Miami, TX, with her parents in 1911. On May 5, 1921, she married Emil H. Lehmann. They lived first in Greenwood County, KS, and in 1925 moved to the Garden City, KS, area. They came to Logan County in 1935. Deceased are two sisters, Jessie Turney and Ruth Hale; and five brothers, Paul, Miami, TX; Clifford, Kansas City; Claude, San Diego; Delbert, Eureka, KS; Fred, McPherson, KS. She is survived by her husband, and daughter, Betty Stoecker, Oakley; son Emil H. Lehmann Jr., Scott City, KS; grandchildren, David Tripp, Topeka; Marianne and Gary Stoecker, Oakley; Ann, Deane, and Kathleen Lehmann, Scott City.
