Emma Philomena Zumberger, 82, R. 6, Portland, Ind., died Sunday at her residence following and extended illness. She was born December 28, 1905, in St. Wendeln, daughter of Aloys and Mary (Brackman) Guggenbiller. February 12, 1947, she was married in Kentucky to Joseph Zumberger, who survives. Also surviving is a brother, Leo, Fort Recovery, and two sisters, Ida Guggenbiller, Fort Recovery, and Mrs. Frank (Christa) Leugers, Rossburg. Two sisters and two brothers are deceased. Mrs. Zumberger retired from teaching school after a 37 year career. She was a member of the U.S. Army WACs for two years, serving during World War II. She was a graduate of Fort Recovery High School and Miami University and was a member of Mary Help of Christians Catholic Church, Fort Recovery, and its Altar Rosary Sodality. Services will be held Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. at the church with the Rev. Urban Dumminger officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call at Brockman's Funeral Home, Fort Recovery, after 2 p.m. Tuesday and on Wednesday 9 a.m. until the hour of services at the church. A wake service is set for Tuesday at 8:30 in the funeral home.
