Lea E. Ketterling, 87, Wishek, N.D., died Monday, Dec. 12, 2005, at Wishek Community Hospital, Wishek.
Lea Martel was born Dec. 23, 1917, at Wishek, the daughter of Leonard and Christina (Hagel) Martel. She grew up and attended rural school in the area. She married Edwin Eisenbeis on Nov. 25, 1937, at St. Luke Lutheran Church parsonage, Wishek. They lived and farmed in the Wishek and Burnstad, N.D., areas until 1946 when they moved into Fredonia, N.D. They moved to Wishek in 1950. She lived at Wishek Home for the Aged for 20 years. She married Alfred Schauer and later Ted Ketterling. She was a member of St. Luke Lutheran Church, Wishek. She enjoyed gardening and cooking.
She is survived by a son, Robert Eisenbeis, Fargo, N.D.; two brothers, Donald, Carson City, Nev., and Elmer, Minneapolis; a daughter-in-law, Carol Eisenbeis, Bismarck, N.D.; a son-in-law, Claude Baumann, Gillette, Wyo.; five sisters, Emma, Maggie and Polene, all Lodi, Calif., Eleanor, Prior, Mont., and Eva, Linton, N.D.; five grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands; a son, Ellis; and a daughter, Mavis.
Services: 10:30 a.m. Thursday, St. Luke Lutheran Church, Wishek.
Visitation: 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Dahlstrom Funeral Home, Wishek.
Burial: St. Luke Lutheran Cemetery, Wishek.
