Lucretia attended country school and graduated from the Creston High School. She was employed at F. W. Woolworth in Creston. Lucretia was united in marriage to Elmer Ritter on March 27, 1933, in Omaha. They lived in Creston, moving to Fort Dodge in 1935. She was employed at Gates Department Store, Fort Dodge and dress making and alternations from her home. They moved to Gowrie in 1957 where she continued dress making and alterations. They moved to Boone in 1969. She was a member of the Augustana Lutheran church, W.E.L.C.A., and National Embroider Guild of America.
Preceding her in death were her parents; three brothers and two sisters. Survivors include, her husband, Elmer of boone; daughters, Linda Howell of Boone and Donna Ritter of Gowrie; two grandchildren and six great grandchildren; other relatives and friends.
Services were held at the Augustana Lutheran Church at Boone, Iowa on April 2, 2002. Graveside services were held at Memorial Park Cemetery at Fort Dodge, Iowa.
