James R. Warren

Candler - James Robert Warren, 86, of 76 Ginger Lane, Candler, died Tuesday, Jan. 6, 2004, at Mission Hospitals.
He was a native of Abingdon, Va., and lived most of his life in Haywood and Buncombe Counties. He was a son of the late James Monteville Warren and Rosa Watts Warren Henson. He was married to Virginia Ginger Early Warren who died in 2001. He was also preceded in death by a granddaughter, Melissa Warren, great-granddaughter, Megan Melo, two brothers and two sisters. He was a retired carpenter and member of Stoney Fork Missionary Baptist Church. Mr. Warren was a United States Army veteran serving during World War II.

He is survived by four daughters, Vivian Bryson and her husband, Duane, of Waynesville, Lillian Dellinger and her husband, Bryan, of Morganton, Linda Revis and her husband, R.B. of Easley, S.C,, and Brenda Scott and her husband, Randal, of Candler; three sons, Dennis and Michael Joseph Warren, both of Candler, and James Earl Warren and his wife, Joyce, of Waynesville; 17 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild and several nieces and nephews.

The funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at the Canton chapel of Wells Funeral Homes with the Rev. Bennie Wade officiating. Burial will follow at Bethel Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
