JOAN CAPOBIANCO

Joan Marie Capobianco, 78, of Las Vegas, passed away May 28, 2009.

Beloved mother, co-worker, friend, entertainer and dancer, Joan grew up in Philadelphia, moved to California in 1973, and finally settled in Las Vegas with her husband, Leonard Capobianco, in 1977. She retired from the travel and hospitality industry.

While in California, Joan earned her associate's degree from Valley College. At the time of her passing, she was in the process of completing her bachelor's degree from UNLV in theatre. Joan was very active in the UNLV Senior Adult Theatre and Senior Jazz programs. She had recently formed "Let Us Entertain You," where she gathered entertainers together to provide entertainment to different community venues.

Joan was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Leonard Capobianco.

She is survived by her three sons, William (Sheila), Robert (Carol) and Bruce (Debbie) Meredith; four grandchildren, Robert, Tim (Gloria), Dan and Ryan Meredith; and one great-grandchild, Marie Meredith.

Service will be at 10:40 a.m. Tuesday, June 9, at the Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 1900 Buchanan Blvd., Boulder City, NV 89005, (702) 486-5920. Please arrive at the chapel at the cemetery five-10 minutes before the service begins. Burial will follow the service. Flowers can be sent to Hites Funeral Home, 438 W. Sunset Road, Henderson, NV 89011, but must arrive between 8-9:30 a.m. Tuesday, June 9.
