She was baptized September 9, 1899, at Otoe, Nebraska and was confirmed into the Lutheran faith on October 21, 1894, in Bertrand.
In the year of 1892, she came with her parents to Bertrand where they lived on a farm west of Bertrand.
On March 7, 1895, she was united in marriage to John Ziems, who preceded her in death in 1945. After their marriage they moved on a farm 2 miles north of Bertrand where they lived for over 50 years. To this marriage six children were born.
In 1945 she moved to Bertrand where she resided until the time of her death.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; four children; four brothers and one sister.
In 1955 she became a member of the St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Bertrand.
She was a loving mother, always willing to help wherever she was needed and a friend of everyone. During her life she endured many hardships and poor health.
Her illness was a short duration of 3 and a half weeks of heart ailment from which she was bed fast. Her two daughters were at her bedside when she passed away very peaceful, to be with her Savior, in the morning, March 22.
She leaves to mourn her loss one sister, Mrs. Minnie Schwarz of Lexington, Nebraska who died March 225; two daughters, Ella Ernst and Mrs. Theo. (Lena) Koop both of Bertrand; three grandchildren: Leonard Ernst of Two Rivers, Wisconsin; Mrs. Irvin (Marie) Langenberg of Shickley, Nebraska and Ruby Beck of Bertrand; 12 great grandchildren: several nieces, nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends.
