BIOGRAPHY: Harold Peikert was born 10 Apr 1925. He is the son of George D. and Hulda [Rentz] Peikert.

OCCUPATION: He has farmed on the Peikert family homestead all of his adult life. He has also done assembly and factory work.

DEATH: Harold Peikert
Harold G. Peikert, 83 of Rockford Township, died Thursday, November 13, 2008 at Lake Ridge Care Center in Buffalo.
He was born on April 10, 1925 in Rockford Township the son of George W. and Hulda Rentz Peikert.
He was baptized as an infant and later instructed in the Lutheran Catechism and confirmed in the Christian faith on July 2, 1939 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Hanover.
On October 30, 1946, Harold G. Peikert was joined in holy marriage to Dorothy P. Snodgrass at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Hanover. Pastor O.F. Herder performed the ceremony.
Together they engaged in dairy farming for many years. Harold was also formerly employed at Lakeland Door Company in St. Louis Park for twenty-five years, Wagner Spray-Tech for five years, part-time at CountrySide Restaurant in Hamel, mowed grass at Beebe Lake Park and was a greeter at Wal-Mart.
He was a lifelong member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Hanover. Harold belonged to the Hanover Senior Citizens and Hennepin County Pioneers.
Survived by daughters: Julie (Troy) Renstrom of Stevensville, Montana and Lisa Peikert of Minnetonka; four grandchildren: Morgan Sanders, Thorin, Zachary and Quade Renstrom; a great-grandson: Bryan Bonilla; sisters: Olga Sipe and Esther Schmidt; many other relatives and friends.
Preceded in death by his wife Dorothy on March 6, 1992; his parents; three brothers: Walter, William and Emil and by five sisters: Tillie Hayes, Alma Dixon, Lydia Kiphuth, Elsie Hillstrom and Gert Schellum.
Funeral services for Harold Peikert were held at 3 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 16 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Hanover. Pastor Kathryn Zurcher officiated and interment followed at Elmwood Cemetery in Rockford.
A visitation was held from 4-8 p.m. Saturday, November 15 at the Peterson Chapel in Buffalo with a prayer service at 7 p.m.
Casket bearers were Wallace and Jerry Peikert, Willis Kiphuth, Wayne Hillstrom, Robert "Buddy" Dixon and Linda Colbjornsen.
The Peterson Chapel in Buffalo served the family.
