Margaret Schiffner, 59, died Nov. 6, 1999, at her home. Mass will be said at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, Dodge City, with the Rev. Ted A. Skalsky presiding. The casket will remain closed. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery, Dodge City. A vigil service will held at 7 tonight at Burkhart Funeral Chapel.

Mrs. Schiffner was born Oct. 2, 1940, in Gray County, the daughter of Martin Joseph and Melva M.(Batman)Wendel. A lifetime Gray and Ford County resident, she was a homemaker. She graduated from Ingalls High School and was member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. On Nov. 30, 1967, she married Albert Schiffner at Dodge City. He survives.

She is also survived by two sons, Rick Schiffner and Robert Schiffner, both of Dodge City; five daughters, Trudi Howser of El Reno, Okla., Judi Sanchez of Ark City, Carol Padget, Lisa Phills and Kristie Schiffner all of Dodge City; three brothers Leroy Wendel and Charles Wendel of Ingalls, and Donald Wendel of Salisaw, Okla; one sister Alice Scott of Cimarron; 19 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Cheryl Rollman; a sister Ines Thomas; and by two grandchildren.

The family suggests memorials to the American Cancer Society in care of Burkhart Funeral Chapel, 1901 N. 14th Ave., Dodge City, Ks 67801.
