Anita M. Straatmann, 87, Labadie, passed away Tuesday, Aug. 28, 2007, at Grandview Healthcare Center, Washington.
Mrs. Straatmann was born Oct. 22, 1919, in Union, the daughter of Frank Klenke and wife Anna, nee Fees.
She was united in marriage to Elmer A. Straatmann July 1, 1942, at Immaculate Conception Church, Union.
Mrs. Straatmann was a member of St. John's-Gildehaus Church, Villa Ridge, St. John's Ladies Sodality, Missouri Extension Council and St. John's Quilters.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband on Aug. 29, 1984; one son, Dennis Straatmann; one granddaughter, Vanessa Straatmann; three brothers, Richard, Robert and Gilbert Klenke; and two sisters, Helen Webb and Sally Bolzenius.
Mrs. Straatmann is survived by three sons, William Straatmann and wife Dee, Washington, Marvin Straatmann and Timothy Straatmann and wife Cindy, all of Labadie; four daughters, Carolyn Warnebold and husband Glenn, Hermann, Shirley Kitchen and husband Bruce, Hesperia, Calif., Glenda Adrian and husband Tom, Labadie, and Rita Atkins and special friend Dean Trombley, Washington; two sisters, Wilma Huvendick, Union, and Leola Schackmann, St. Louis; one sister-in-law, Celeste Klenke, Union; 15 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; other relatives and many friends.
A funeral Mass was held Saturday, Sept. 1, at St. John's-Gildehaus Church, Villa Ridge. Father Jeff Knight officiated.
Burial was in the church cemetery.
Memorials to St. John's-Gildehaus Church are preferred.
The family was served by Miller Funeral Home, Washington.
