Bernitt Service Today
Rites will be conducted this afternoon, Thursday, at 2 p.m. in Braun Funeral chapel for John Bernitt, 82, of Cashmere, who died April 19 in a Wenatchee hospital. Rev. Mr. Laurence Arksey will conduct the services.. Mrs. Earl Barnes will be soloist, accompanied on the organ by her husband. Burial will follow at the Cashmere cemetery with Duane Bloden, Chris koumelletls, Charles Cochrane, Jack Knowles, Cadi Lawrence and Wayne Doane serving as pallbearers.
MR. BERNITT was born April 3, 1888, in Marshfield, Ore. In World War I he served with the U.S. Army In France.
Mr. Bernitt worked as a mechanic at the old Blewett Garage in Cashmere and operated his own garage in Dryden. His wife, the former Velma Jordan, died In 1941. A niece, in Seattle, is his sole survivor.
