GIVEN LEGION HONORS BURIAL SERVICE
Willard Carl Had Lived in This Section Since Being Discharged From the Army After First World War
Willard B. Carl received military honors of the Cashmere American Legion at his funeral services Saturday. Rev. Richard Furman of the Baptist church officiated at the Kuelbs Funeral Home. Burial was in the Cashmere cemetery. Pall bearers were Walt Thornbrue, Charles Jameson, Sam Larson, W. O. Papadopulos, Gust Stavros, and J. Leon La Vigne all Legion members.

During recent years, Mr. Carl had operated an orchard about a mile west of Cashmere. He was born at Page, N. D., November 11, 1898. He enlisted in the army at Grand Forks, N. D., April 1918 and was sent overseas with the medical corps where he served till November 1919. He came to Washington after being discharged. He was married to Inez Brisky November 14, 1921 and has lived here since that time. Surviving besides his wife are two daughters, Lillian, Seattle and Wilma of Cashmere, his mother, Mrs. Janet Carl of Cashmere, five brothers, Robert, Port Angeles, Floyd, Mason City, George, Seattle, Leonard, Portland and Raymond of Cashmere. Three sisters, Mrs. Inez Miller, Seattle, Mrs. Lalia Jones, Cashmere, Mrs. Dorothy Dixon of Indiana. During the service R. H. Siverly sang "In the Garden" and "No Night There" with Mrs. C. M. Erickson at the piano. Mr. and Mrs. George Carl, Seattle, Mr. and Mrs. Vern Miller, Seattle, Lillian Carl, Seattle and Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Carl, Mason City, were here for the services.
