Rev. Logan A. Yingst, 80, of Buhl, died Thursday morning at Magic Valley Memorial Hospital after a long illness.
Born May 24, 1894, at Huntsville, Ark., he came to the Buhl area in September, 1941. He was a Baptist minister in Arkansas and after coming to Idaho pastored the Filer United Baptist Church until failing health caused his retirement.
He also worked as a carpenter.
He married Flora Emma Walden on August 16, 1914, at Reed's Creek, Ark. She died April 16, 1967. He was later married to Iva Hurley on November 16, 1973 at Buhl.
He was a member of the Buhl Freewill Baptist Church.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Earl McRoberts, Buhl; three sons, Olnia W. Yingst, Buhl; Freeman Yingst, Twin Falls, and Clarence Yingst, Anchorage, Alaska; one stepson, Raymond Hurley, Filer; two stepdaughters, Mrs. John Simpson, Buhl, and Mrs. Jack Thompson, Kent, Wash.; three sisters, Mrs. Molly Walden, Buhl; Mrs. Velia Root, Kingston, Ark., and Mrs. Dorie Fullerton, Tulare, Calif.; two brothers, Jacob Yingst, Federal, Ark., and Joseph Yingst, Springdale, Ark.; 7 grandchildren, 1 great-granddaughter, 12 stepgrandchildren and 3 step-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were conducted at the Buhl Freewill Baptist Church. Concluding rites were at the Buhl Cemetery.
