Here are my notes for Frank, from his entry in my family tree file- Rick Waggener:

Frank Ling was the youngest of seven children born on November 8, 1877 to his parents John and Anna (Shrum) Ling. He was born in Eaton County, Michigan, most likely in Eaton Township and not too far from the City of Charlotte. Frank's father John Ling died when Frank was 2 years old, and he was raised by his widowed mother and apparently never knew his father. It appears that Frank lived all of his life near and later in the City of Charlotte, in Eaton County, Michigan. He is listed on the 1900 and 1910 censuses as being a farm laborer. I assume that means that he worked on the farm of someone else, rather than on his own farm. On the 1920 census he is listed as being a freight handler for the Western Railroad. On his death certifate in 1928, he is listed as being a 'warehouse man,' which presumably could have been for the same railroad company. Frank also died fairly young, at the age of 51, on November 15, 1928, in his home in Charlotte. -Rick Waggener
