The birthdate on his marker is wrong. He is included in the 1850 Census of Randolph Co., AL as Franklin M, age 1, born Ala and the 1860 Census of Randolph Co., AL shows F. M. age 12, Ala.
Franklin died in the Tyus district of Carrollton per my Grandmother. She was there when he died. Franklin is my GG Grandfather.
He was the son of James F. Knopp (b. 1816-1818/SC d. 1880-1900/most likely in Randolph Co., AL) and his 1st wife, Jane (Smith) Knopp (b. 1825-1828/GA or SC b. bef 1863/most likely in Randolph Co., AL).
