COTTAGE GROVE -- Clarence L. "Buz" Kainz, 54, Cottage Grove, formerly of Harding, died Wednesday, May 26, 1999, due to complications from a heart attack.
He was born Jan. 9, 1945, in Little Falls to Clarence and Josephine (Zak) Kainz. He lived in Harding and graduated from Pierz Memorial High School. He attended Brainerd Community College, St. Cloud State University, and Metro State University of St. Paul, receiving degrees in chemistry and business administration. He married Sue Lange on July 18, 1970, in St. Paul. They lived in St. Paul and moved to Cottage Grove. He was employed for 29 years by the H. B. Fuller Co. as a chemist and later as a sales representative. He was a member of Jaycees with activities with St. Paul, Minneapolis, Cottage Grove and Oakdale, Washington County Library Board, Human Resources Commission of Cottage Grove, World Wide Marriage Encounter, and St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church Marriage Preparation Team.
Survivors include his wife; three sons, Charly, of Edina, Dan, of Burnsville, and Andrew, of Minneapolis; two daughters, Christine Kainz, Green Bay, Wis., and Amy Kainz, Cottage Grove; his mother, of Harding; a sister, Joanne Carlson, Claremont, Fla.; and a brother, Don Kainz, St. Cloud.
His father died earlier.
