Roman P. Woitalla, a resident of Harding, MN, died Sept. 13, 2003, at the Pierz Villa.

Mass of Christian Burial was Sept. 17 at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Harding with Father Roger Thoennes officiating. Burial was in the Holy Cross Parish Cemetery. Military rites were provided by the American Legion Post #341.

Roman Woitalla was born on Oct. 15, 1936, to Peter and Mary (Kozulla) Woitalla. He was united in marriage to Martha Bzdok on June 1, 1964, at Our Lady of Lourdes Church in Little Falls, MN. Roman was a heavy equipment operator and worked for numerous construction companies in Minnesota and surrounding states. Prior to his illness, Roman enjoyed hunting, fishing, and watching sports. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, American Legion Post #341, and Disabled American Veterans.

Survivors include his wife Martha Woitalla of Harding; mother Mary Woitalla of Harding; five sons, Mark Woitalla and fiancé Gloria Nelson, David Woitalla and wife Cari, Brian Woitalla all of Harding, Steve Woitalla and wife Teresa of Freedhem, MN, and Gary Woitalla and wife Pam of Buckman, MN; two daughters, Lisa Ginter and husband Kent of Little Falls and Stacy Foust and husband Mike of Harding; brothers, Joseph Woitalla and wife Lois, Edward Woitalla and wife Gloria, and Allen Woitalla and wife Debbie all of Harding; sisters Louise Brill and husband Richard of Freedhem, MN, and Stella Stuckmayer and husband Melvin of Lastrup, MN; sister-in-law Marcella Woitalla of Harding; nine grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father Peter Woitalla; sister Alma Woitalla and a brother, Alfred Woitalla.

Casketbearers were Marilyn Dorn, Denise Young, Bob Woitalla, Jeffrey Brill, John Klinkhammer and Jackie Gaffke.
