Irene Ethel Eloise Collin, of Holdrege,Nebraska, passed away, December 14, 2007 in Lincoln, Nebraska. Irene was born August 12, 1931 on the family farm near Sacramento in Phelps County, Nebraska, the youngest of four children of Elmer F. and Ethel J. (Johnson) Anderson. Irene received her primary education in rural Phelps County and then graduated from Holdrege High School with the class of 1948. Following her education, Irene was employed in the office at Hested's in Holdrege. On August 27, 1950 she was united in marriage to Franz C. Collin and to this union four children were born: Nancy, Virginia, Sylvia and Theodore. The family made their home on a farm north of Funk, where the couple engaged in farming. Irene loved her children dearly and devoted her life to raising their children and worked side-by-side on the farm with Franz.

She enjoyed tending to her flower and vegetable garden and spending time with her grandchildren. Irene was a member of the Holcomb Evangelical Free Church north of Holdrege, where she was active with Women's Ministry.

She leaves to mourn her passing her husband, Franz of 57 years of Holdrege; three daughters: Nancy Schroeder and her husband, Jerrold of Sylvania, Ohio, Virginia Parks and her husband, Ron of Lincoln and Sylvia DeBoer and her husband, Steve of Hastings, Nebraska; one son, Theodore Collin and his wife, Cindy of Loomis, Nebraska; eight grandchildren: Krista Wales and her husband, Mike, Emily LaPoint and her husband, Rudy, Sean Parks, Andrew DeBoer and his wife, Allissa, Mark DeBoer, Benjamin Franz Collin, Amber and April Collin; six great-grandchildren: Kaylie, Kylie, Brean, Michael, Derrick and Christopher; one brother, Phil Anderson and his wife, Joan of Glenwood Springs, Colorado; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers: Glen Anderson and his wife, Ruth and Lavern Anderson in WW II.
