Funeral services for Amalia "Mollie" Ungefug Doerr will be held February 13, at 11:00 a.m., at St. John's Lutheran Church in Lovell, Wyoming. Mrs. Doerr died February 9, 1993 at her home in Lovell. She was 89 years old. She was known to everyone as "Aunt Mollie".
Mollie was born on December 20, 1903, in Unterwalden, Russia, the daughter of Karl and Olinda Trube Ungefug. Her father was a farmer in the Volga Valley in Russia. Mollie was the fifth of seven children which included four boys and three girls. All of her siblings preceded her in death except for a brother, Fred, who resides in California.
In 1912, the family emigrated to the United States and settled in Belfry, Montana where Mr. Ungefug farmed. Mollie attended school in Belfry.
On March 2, 1924, Mollie married Alfred J. Doerr in Lovell. They lived and farmed east of Lovell until 1956 when they moved into town. Mollie worked at North Big Horn County Hospital for several years and prided herself on the fact that she worked until she was 82 years old. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1988.
Mrs. Doerr is survived by one daughter, Helen Regnier of Lovell; three sons, Roland (Rollie) of Cody, Wyoming, Don of Clearfield, Utah, and Eugene of Basin, Wyoming; 11 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, and 9 great-great grandchildren. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews, some of whom she helped to raise.
Mrs. Doerr was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, belonging to the Lutheran Women's Missionary League. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a memorial fund at St. John's Lutheran Church. Interment will be in the Lovell Cemetery. Haskell Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
