Wilbert Alfred Pietzsch, 84 of Hamilton died July 5, 2009 from a longtime illness in the Hamilton General Hospital. Funeral services were held on July 8 at St. John Lutheran Church with Rev. Benjamin Rathgeber officiating.

Burial was in Gentry's Mill Cemetery. Mr. Pietzsch was born on Jan. 15, 1925 in Pottsville the son of Emma Louise (Eilers) Pietzsch and Gustav August Pietzsch.

He was married to Lela Mae (Bryson) Pietzsch on April 14, 1946 in Hamilton. He faithfully served his country in the Army Air Force as a radar mechanic from 1943-1946.

He was an active member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Pottsville. Wilbert and Mae transferred their membership to St. John Lutheran Church in 1987.He served his church in various positions before he became too ill to do so. He was employed by Allis Chamers Manufacturing Company and served in a regional distribution management position for 35 years. His favorite past time and hobby was farming and taking care of his cattle.

Survivors include his wife; three children, Thomas Pietzsch and wife Cheryl; Timothy Pietzsch Sr. and wife Elizabeth and Cynthia Conklin and husband Mark; a sister, Mildred Wagner and husband Benjamin; a brother, Jerome Pietzsch and wife Alice; nine grandchildren and spouses; six great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren
