Nora Caroline Hobson Karg, 91, of Sterling, died Wednesday, Sept. 26, 2001 of natural causes.
Visitation will be from noon until 6 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 28, at Chaney-Reager Funeral Home. FuneTal ser vices will be at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 29, at Chancy Reager with the Rev. T.L. Phillips officiating.. Burial will be at Riverside Cemetery.
Mrs. Karg was born on Dec. 7, 1909 near Merino to Harvey David and Lillie (Chase) Stockham, the youngest of six children. Nora grew up and had her schooling at Roosevelt School in Washington County, graduating in 1927.
Nora married Alfred E. "Shorty" Hobson in Sterling on Nov. 22, 1930. From this union two children were born, M. Lavonne and Keith A. Alfred passed away on March 8, 1972.
On June 13, 1976 she married Alex Karg. Alex passed away on Feb. 20, 1991. Nora has been a resident of Sunset Manor in Brush since November 1996.
Nora worked at the Sterling sugarbeet factory and Sterling Heights nursing home.
She was a member of the First Christian Church, Royal Neighbors of America and Daughters of Union Veterans. She enjoyed playing cards, crocheting, gardening and senior activities at the Heritage Center.
Nora is survived by her daughter, M. Lavonne Duncan and husband Jess; her son, Keith A. Hobson and wife Elizabeth C., all of Sterling; grandchildren, Dennis
Duncan and wife Wendy of Upland, Calif., Timothy Duncan and wife Gwen of Sterling, Judy Kauffman and husband Mike of Sterling; Peggy Barr and husband Warren of Hermosa Beach, Calif., Caroline "Carol" Buzzell of Ster ling, and Christine "Christa" Amen and husband Alan of Sterling; nine greatgrand children, Jason and Brandon Buzzell, Jared, Deann, Malcolm and Liam Duncan, and Tara, Shane and Ashley Amen; and a sister-in-law, Gertrude Stockham of Sterling.
She was preceded in death by both husbands; four brothers and one sister.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Sunset Manor Advisory Council, the Alzheimer's Association, or a charity of the donor's choice.
