1950 Los Angeles, California federal census listed Helyn A. Lowell, head of house age 37, divorced (in 1944) and lived with her mother, Alice S. Shepard.

Her parents were Dr. West B. and Alice (Cook) Shephard. She was married to
Harold Janssen.
She was born Mar.4, 1913, in Peoria, IL.
She lived in Cook and Lincoln, NE. before moving to California and Albueque,
NM. and later moved to Austin, Tx. where she was a retail sales, manager for a
clothing store in Austin, TX.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Harold and a brother,
William Cook Shephard on Feb. 8, 1991.She had no children.
Funeral was held Feb. 10, 1994 at the Fusselman-Wymore-Hammons Funeral Home
Chapel in Syracuse, NE. Interment was in the Cook Cemetery.
