Mr. Edward F. Christofferson, age 58, a life resident of Nichols community died suddenly following a heart attack Monday evening at his home.

He was born February 16, 1920, at Nichols, the son of Nels and Murney McHenry Christofferson.

On June 21, 1946, he was married at Muscatine to the former Lois Jeanne Edgar.

He had farmed all his life and was a member of the Nichols Christian Church, and the Muscatine Moose Lodge. He was a veteran of the U.S. Armed Forces having served in the Air Force.

Survivors include his wife, one son, Daniel of Nichols, four sisters, Mrs. Harold (Blanche) Carter of West Liberty, Mrs. Hazel Barnard, and Mrs. Jessie Ulch both of Muscatine. Mrs. Floyd (Iola) Coss of Atalissa, two brothers, Leroy of Nichols and Martin of East Moline. One grandson, John, and one grand-daughter, Sandra, also survive. He was proceded in death by his parents, two brothers, and one sister.

Funeral services were held Thursday at 11 a.m. from the Nichols Christian Church, with Rev. William Keller officiating. Mrs. Edna Kirchner was the organist.

Pallbearers were: Larry Ulch, Jerry Coss, Donald Coss, James Christofferson, Harry Christofferson, and Donald Carter. Honarary Pallbearers were: Bernard Oostendorp, Frank Broders, Vernon Carter, Richard Fridley, Archie Kaalberg, Donald Meyers, and Frank Newton Sr.

Burial was in the Nichols cemetery, under the direction of the Snider Funeral Home, West Liberty.
