**********
Dan grew up on the farm of his parents and continued to farm the home place for 48 years, not only making a living, but raising a family and rearing them to be responsible citizens in the community.

Dan's true tenor voice was a real asset to the First Congregational Church's Choir and Men's Quartette. Many times he would leave his ractor to come into the Church to sing for a funeral service.

His family doesn't remember of his ever having been really ill enough to be admitted to a hospital until he was diagnosed as having cancer and inoperable. He still had Thanksgiving dinner with his family and fed his cattle only a week before his passing. He was admitted to the hospital for radical cancer therapy and was there only 13 hours when the Lord took him home.
