Irene E. Heidemann, longtime Cushing resident, passed away on July 18, 2009, in the United Regional Hospital in Wichita Falls at the age of 88 years.

The daughter of the late George Taylor and Mary Mitkh Taylor, Irene was born on Dec. 14, 1920, in Cushing, Okla., where she was reared and educated, graduating from Cushing High School.

She was united in marriage to Donald J. Heidemann on Dec. 5, 1944, in Cushing and to this union three daughters, Barbara, Donna and Deborah were born. He preceded her in death on Aug. 18, 1994.Irene had worked for the Southwestern Bell Telephone Company for several years, prior to working for Dr. Atberry and later for State Farm.

She was a member of the Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church. She also belonged to the Altar Society and she enjoyed knitting, cross stitching, bowling, playing bridge, playing bonco, spending time at the Cushing Senior Citizen Center and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She is survived by her children, Barbara Buneta and her husband Martin of Wagoner, Okla., Donna Brown and her husband, Ed of Houston, Texas, and Deborah Sells and her husband Steve of Wichita, Falls, Texas; one sister, Betty Morgan and her husband George of Cushing; five grandchildren, Cryshalynn Howell, Stephen Sells, Seandria Zalewski and her husband Mark, Micheal Brown and Leann Buneta; three great-grandchildren, Kody Sells, Mataylie Sells and Preslee Sells; numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

In addition to her parents and husband of almost 50 years, Irene was preceded in death by four brothers and two sisters.

Rosary services will be held Wednesday evening at 6:30 p.m. in the Davis Memorial Chapel.Mass services will be held on Thursday, July 23, 2009, at 10 a.m. in the Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church with Father Matt LaChance officiating.
