He married Anna Stevens on June 16, 1934 in Port Huron. She died August 3, 2006.
Mr. Klaas was employed with Mueller Brass Company for 38 years.
He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church.
Mr. Klaas was an avid deer hunter and fisherman and a lifetime member of the Blue Water Sportsmen's Club.
He is survived by his two sons, Steven (Grace) Klaas of Lakeport and H. Charles (Barbara) Klaas, Jr., all of Port Huron; six grandchildren; and twelve great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, Otto, Walter and Edward Klaas; and a sister Margaret Davis.
Visitation will be 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Sunday in Pollock-Randall Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, July 27, 2009 in Trinity Lutheran Church. Vicar Paul Kruse will officiate.
Burial will be in Lakeside Cemetery, Port Huron.
Pallbearers will be Karl Klaas, Mike Salamino, Martin Dobring, Clarence Sheffler, Dean Siskonen and Jackie Brown.
