Mrs. Nora Lorene Friend, age 85, passed away May 7, 2003 in a local hospital. She was born July 25, 1917 in Jenkins, MO to Admiral Dewey Eubanks & Carrie Bolin Eubanks.
Mrs. Nora Lorene Friend had lived in DeFuniak Springs for the past 9 years, moving from Crane, MO. She was Church of Christ by faith & a member of the College Avenue Church of Christ in DeFuniak Springs, FL.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Alfred Friend; two brothers, Gene Eubanks, & Ray Loy Eubanks.
She is survived by one son, Carl Friend & wife Billie of DeFuniak Springs; two brothers, Nicholas Eubanks & wife Diane of Marionville, MO, & Jack Eubanks of Aurora, MO; one sister, Ilene Thurman of Aurora; three grandchildren, Greg Friend & wife Kathy of DeFuniak Springs, Kent Friend & wife Martha of Argyle, FL & Kim McDonald & husband Kyle of DeFuniak Springs, & four great-grandchildren, Lacie Friend, Caylon Friend, Karley & Garrett McDonald.
Funeral services were held Monday, May 12, at graveside at Clio Cemetery in Jenkins, MO with Rev. Bill Williams officiating.
Burial followed in Clio Cemetery.
Clary-Godwin-Comander Funeral Home was entrusted with local arrangements.
