Clarence Bertrum Klingberg, son of Edwin and Anna (Sjolin) Klingberg was born Nov 17, 1910, in McCook County, SD. He grew up in the Salem area attending grade school until he began farming with his father. On Mar 18, 1936, he married Hazel L. Anderson. He sold Raleigh Products for a short time and then farmed until 1977 when he moved into Salem. He was a member of Sun Prairie Baptist Church and was church secretary for many years. Clarence died on Thursday, October 9, 2008 in the Salem Leisure Living Apartments. He had reached the age of 97 years, 10 months, and 22 days. Survivors include: his wife of 72 years, Hazel; two sons, Wayne (Vicki), Greenwood, IN and Dale (Karen), Salem; a daughter, Marla (Richard) Snyder, Morro Bay, CA; 10 grandchildren, Jeff (Melissa) Klingberg, Debra (Bryan) Fox, Steve (Pam) Klingberg, Julie (Eric) Foust, Dan (Jerilyn) Klingberg, Tahnil (Terry) Davis, Tim Snyder, Sara (Chris) Godding, Heidi (Jeff) Anderson, and David (Jamie) Klingberg; 11 great grandchildren, Brad, Clay, Kelly, Mark, Katie, Joshua, Treydon, Ian, Bria, Emilia, and Indiana; and two sisters, Dagmar Osterberg and Cecelia Ecklein both of Salem. He was preceded in death by a son, Arlen, and daughter-in-law, Brenda Klingberg, a brother, Ralph Klingberg, a brother-in-law, Dwight Osterberg, and a sister-in-law, Ila Mae Klingberg. Viewing will begin at 9:00 AM Monday October 13, 2008 in the Kinzley Funeral Home, Salem. The family will be present Monday from 7:00 to 9:00 PM. Funeral services will begin at 11:00 AM Tuesday, October 14, 2008 in the Sun Prairie Baptist Church, rural Salem.
