On August 1, the bodies of her boyfriend Frank M. Scaramuzzi and their friend Jeremiah A. Johnston were discovered by searchers in a remote location near Elgin. Authorities believe that they were killed separately from, but at about the same time as McKillop. They had all last been seen alive in mid-July.
An acquaintance of the three victims, an unemployed house painter, has admitted to killing them when he was under the influence of methamphetamine.
