- James Alexander Straub, age 73, died Wednesday, Jan. 13. He was born in Rocbridge County, November 21, 1908, a son of the late William Edward and Mae Lewis Straub. His wife, Elizabeth Williams Straub, preceded him in death. He was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church, Buena Vista; a memaber of the Sam Houston Ruritan Club, and a former partner and operator of the National Wholesale Company. Surviving are one daughter, Mrs.Eliabeth S.Fore, Chapel Hill, N. C.; two brothers, Marquis W. Straub and William Herman Straub, both of Lexington; one sister, Mrs. Katherine Swisher, Lexington; two grandchildren, Miss Stephanie Fore and James Fore, both of Chapel Hill. Funeral services will be conducted 3:00 p.m. Saturday at Harrison's Chapel with interment in Timber Ridge ARP Cemetery. The officiating clergyman is Rev. Denis Breetzke. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be made to the Seventh Day Adventist Church or the Lexington Life Saving and First Aid Crew. The family will receive friends from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
