Bernard Hans Jergenson
The death of Bernard Hans Jergenson, the four year old son of Mr. and Mrs. Hans Jergenson, northeast of Villisca, occurred at the Emmanuel Hospital in Omaha, Monday morning, July 10, 1911, at 12:40 o’clock. The cause was inflammation of the bowels and stomach. At the time he was taken to the hospital it was not known that he was suffering from tis disease, the purpose being given him expert medical attention in the hopes of offing a cure of a hip disease. The little lad had been wearing a weight on is hip for the purpose of straightening his leg, but it seemed ineffective and was taken to Omaha for special treatment and eleven days later he died of other causes.
He is survived by three brothers and four sisters, besides his parents. He was the next to the youngest in the family. He was born December 17, 1906.
The funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at two o’clock in the Lutheran Church in Strand, conducted by Rev. Jacobs, the minister and interment was made in the Strand Cemetery.

The little fellow had suffered for something like nine months before he was taken to Omaha for an operation.
