They became the parents of eleven children. Mr. Cuddie, two sons, Lloyd and Myrth and two daughters, Mrs. Mary Flach and Mrs. Margaret Vanhorn have preceded her in death. She is survived by seven children, Herman, Ellmore, Warner, Altamore, Malcolm, all of Gladwin; Mrs. Velma Cronk, of Midland and Mrs. Lavera Diffin of West Branch; 35 grandchildren and 44 great grandchildren; also her youngest brother, Milo Dunlap of Ubly, Michigan.
Mrs. Cuddie was also the mother to seven orphan children whom she raised to maturity. She first took the Watson family of four children consisting of Mrs. Hattie Anderson of Flint; Limbert Watson of Durand; Russell Watson of Otisville and Mrs Mary Nichols of Midland. In later years she took her three grandchildren, Mrs Evelyn Grey, who has preceded her in death; Mrs. Erma MAXWELL of Detroit; and Lucy Vanhorn who remained with and helped care for her until her death.
Mrs. Cuddie was a woman loved and honored by all who knew her as well as a kind and loving mother. She will be long remembered by those who knew her. Gladwin County Record dated 09-13/1944 Column - 1 Page - 1
