Robert Lane Steddom, 92, of Belleview died at his residence July 28, 2009. He was born in Dayton, Ohio and was a retired home builder. He was Presbyterian in faith and was a veteran of WW II serving in the United States Army Air Force. Mr. Steddom is survived by his wife of 52 years, Justine Steddom, Belleview; daughters, Laura Dale, Belleview, Catherine Steddom, Leesburg, FL; step-daughter, Ana Mae Erdmann, Port Charlotte, FL; granddaughter, Ashley Dale, Belleview and sister, Julia Smith, Sherman Oaks, CA, he was also survived by a son William Robert Steddom of Shelbyville, KY, daughters Caroline Steddom and Linda Elizabeth Steddom Usery both of Ocala, FL, and the children and grandchildren of Linda.
Robert is listed in the WWII memorial. As a Captain, he flew B-26 bombers in the South Pacific before serving as flight instructor at the pilot training base in Lake Charles, LA. He received two medals for his service as a pilot..
