Mabel E. Karg, 84, of Sterling, died Saturday, Sept. 12, 1998, in Sterling.
Visitation and viewing will begin at noon, Wednesday, Sept. 16 at Chaney-Walters Funeral Home, A funeral service will be at 2:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 17 at the First English Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Andrew Dimit offici ating. Burial will be at Riverside Cemetery. Mrs. Karg was born on Aug. 31, 1914 in Windsor to John and Christine (Fiebig)Schaffer. She graduated from Atwood High School in 1933.On Feb. 28, 1937 she married Sam Karg in Sterling.
Mrs. Karg served as a Red Cross volunteer at nursing homes for many years.
She was a member of the First English Lutheran Church.
She is survived by her husband, Sam Karg of Sterling; a daughter, Ruth J. Stoddard and husband John of Issaquah, Wash.; a son, Donald E. Karg and wife Ramona of Sterling;
brother, Elmer Schaffer of Atwood; two sisters, Betty Loos of Fleming and Edna Albrandt of Sterling; five grandchildren, J. Darin Stoddard of North Bend, Wash., Kevin S. Karg and Tracy D. Yahn of Sterling, Brian S. Stoddard of Redmond, Wash, and Sammie L. Noun of Johnstown; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimers Association or the First English Lutheran Church.
