THEODORE PETERSEN

Theodore C. Petersen, 90, of Cairo, formerly of Dannebrog, died Friday, Oct. 6 at Hastings.

Services were held Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Our Saviour's Lutheran Church in Dannebrog. The Rev. Charles Miller officiated. Burial was in the Loup Fork Cemetery near Boelus.

Casket bearers were Ronald Gorecki, Terry Gorecki, Daniel Gorecki, Richard Gorecki, and Larry Gorecki.

Memorials are suggested to the church or the American Cancer Society.

Mr. Petersen was born Jan 12, 1899, on a farm in the Dry Creek area near Dannebrog, the son of Peder and Dusine Olsen Petersen. He received his education at District 62 School in that area and grew up on the family farm.

On Dec. 18 1929, he married Marie Sonderup at the North Logan Church north of St. Paul. They farmed the Petersen home place in the Dry Creek area. She died in May 1966,

On Oct. 26, 1966 he married Edna Wellsandt at Grand Island. They lived at the Petersen home for more than 18 years. In September 1984 they moved to the Hulett Housing Center in Cairo. She died in January, 1985.

He was a member of Our Saviour's Lutheran Church in Dannebrog.

Survivors include three daughters, Mr. Robert (Madeline) Peterson of Hastings, Carol Glass of Austin, Texas and Garnet Meyer of Hastings; a brother, Carl of La Mesa, Ca., 13 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a brother and three grandchildren.
