Calvin BOWELL, Jr. Born April 11, 1927 in Solomon, KS. to Calvin and Iva Bowell, Sr. Calvin lived in Abilene, KS. and as a child he rode his bike around the home of President Dwight Eisenhower. Dad died peacefully on October 27, 2002 in Seattle, WA. with his family by his side. He was 75 years of age. Beloved husband of Mary H. Bowell for 53 years. Devoted father of Raymond and Rita Boell, Teresa Stout, Keith and Cassie, Donald, Edward and Nimfa, Kerry and Michelle Bowell. Wonderful grandfather of Wolfgang, Michaela and Angelika Dorsch, Chris, Erik and Danny Stout, Sarah and Chad and E J Bowell, Chris, and Jacob Sattelee, Makayla and Matthew Bowell and one great grandchild due in April 2003. Calvin and Mary came to Seattle in September of 1959 from the Tri-Cities to go to work for the U.S. Post Office. Dad worked at the Terminal Annex on Lander Street, the Airport Facility, then moved to the Des Moines Branch and completed his working days at the Westwood Branch of the U.S. Post Office. He retired in January 1993 with 40 years of Service. Dad served in the U.S. Navy during WWII. Dad enjoyed watching sports with his children and grandchildren. He loved music and he loved to dance. He was a father figure to many and a grandfather to all. He had a great love for family, friends and animals. Visitation will be held on Friday, November 1, 2002 from 12 noon to 8 p.m. a the BONNEY-WATSON Washington Memorial Funeral Home, 16445 International Blvd. SeaTac, WA. Funeral Service will be held Saturday, November 2, 2002 at 12:30 p.m. at the BONNEY-WATSON Washington Memorial Chapel. Interment, Washington Memorial Park. The family prefers memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society, the Humane Society or the Salvation Army.
